Nissan Tekton SUV 2026: Nissan India is slated to debut the Tekton on July 9, 2026. The SUV’s unveiling will mark the carmaker’s return to the midsize SUV space after the discontinuation of the Kicks in 2023. Essentially, the Tekton will be Nissan’s badge-engineered version of the Renault Duster sold in our market.
According to reports the Tekton will share its underpinnings and powertrains with the Duster. It remains to be seen whether the Duster’s 160hp, 172Nm 1.8-litre strong-hybrid petrol engine, paired with an e-CVT, makes its way into the Tekton
Nissan Tekton SUV design at large, is expected to take inspiration from global SUV nameplates like the Patrol. If you didn’t know it yet, the Patrol is one of the most iconic Nissans on sale now, globally. It competes with models like the Land Cruiser LC300 and Range Rover- the Japanese manufacturer’s SUV flagship!

According to reports Nissan Tekton SUV has internally nicknamed the Tekton ‘Baby Patrol’. It will have a bold, muscular stance. You’ll see an imposing front fascia with a large grille, uniquely styled LED DRLs, sleek headlamps, and chunky bumpers. The vehicle will also have squared-off wheel arches, and a high bonnet line.
The cabin is expected to feature a three-tone dashboard with a glossy black finish and a bronze-coloured strip running from the central touchscreen to the side AC vents. The Nissan Tekton SUV will likely be equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Google built-in support, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ventilated and powered front seats, a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, wireless charger, and dual-zone climate control.
On the inside, Nissan Tekton SUV could employ a new dashboard layout, new materials and colour themes. However, core functionalities are likely to be retained. These include the 10.1-inch infotainment screen with Google built-in, 10.25-inch TFT instrument cluster, dual zone automatic climate control, powered and ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate and more.

From what we know, the Nissan Tekton SUV seems to be a promising product. However, the company will have to price it competitively to find success in the mid-size SUV space. It will compete with models like the Tata Sierra, Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, second-generation Kia Seltos and others. Renault has priced the Duster well- it sits in the Rs 10.49 lakh- 18.49 lakh bracket. Nissan will likely take a similar approach and keep the Tekton’s prices close to the Duster’s.
