The Honda ZR-V Hybrid has been introduced in India as a fully imported premium SUV and will serve as Honda’s new flagship offering in the country.

If you’ve been waiting for Honda to do something in India, the wait is finally over. For years now, Honda has been making cars that are okay but not really exciting. That all changed with the Elevate, which found its fans. Car enthusiasts always thought Honda could do more. Now, with the 2026 ZR-V, it seems like Honda has been saving its best for the right moment.
The ZR-V is not another SUV from Honda. It is the SUV. It’s an imported model, which puts it right at the top of Honda’s India lineup. When you see it, you can tell it’s special.
A Design That Turns Heads Without Trying Too Hard

The ZR-V looks really mature. It doesn’t try to grab attention as some other cars do. It has a quiet confidence that makes you look twice. The front has LED headlamps with L-shaped daytime running lights and a hexagonal grille. The lower bumper has a honeycomb mesh finish and slim air intakes on both sides. The side profile is interesting with a front overhang and a gently sloping roofline that makes it look like a crossover. The 18-inch dual-tone alloys fill the arches nicely. At the back, there are wraparound LED tail lamps, dual exhaust tips, and a chunky rear bumper.
The ZR-V is 4,568 mm long with a 2,657 mm wheelbase. These numbers put it alongside the MG Hector and Tata Harrier. This is not a car.

An Interior That Feels Like It Belongs in an Expensive Car
Inside the ZR-V impresses. The black cabin feels calm and purposeful. A wide mesh-like trim runs across the dashboard housing the air vents. Brushed accents on the console, dashboard, and door handles add sophistication. The gear lever is replaced with push-button selectors, which makes the cabin feel airier. Physical climate control knobs are also present.

The Honda ZR-V Hybrid is Honda’s newest premium hybrid SUV for India, combining sporty styling, advanced ADAS technology, and strong fuel efficiency with a refined driving experience.
Features That Make the Price Tag Feel Justified
Honda hasn’t held back on equipment. You get a 9-inch touchscreen, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, an 8-way powered driver’s seat, a powered tailgate, a 360-degree camera, and an air purifier. Safety features include eight airbags, stability control, a 360-degree camera, TPMS, an electronic parking brake, and Level 2 ADAS. The ZR-V also has a 4-star Euro NCAP rating.
A Powertrain That Is All About Efficiency Without Sacrificing Fun
The ZR-V runs Honda’s e: HEV hybrid system. A 2.0-litre petrol engine with a dual-motor electric setup producing 184 PS and 315 Nm. There are four drive modes. Normal, Sport, Eco, and Snow. Honda claims a 0 to 100 km/h time of 7.8 seconds.

So Should You Be Excited?
The ZR-V is expected to go on sale in June 2026 with a starting price of Rs 40 lakh. Yes, that is a lot of money. It also puts it in conversation with the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line, Skoda Kodiaq, and Jeep Meridian. A hybrid powertrain, a premium imported product, and Honda’s reliability reputation, in one package? That is not a combination the segment has seen before. If Honda gets the pricing right, the ZR-V could be one of the interesting SUV launches of 2026. The Honda ZR-V seems like a car. The Honda ZR-V has a lot to offer.
