E100 Flex Fuel Car:

The thing that makes this launch so important is the fuel technology behind it. The new Maruti model will run on E100 fuel, which means it can use 100% ethanol or regular petrol. If it is launched, it will be the car in India that can use such a high ethanol blend.

Until now, India has not had a flex-fuel car. We already have petrol with some ethanol in it, like E20, in cities. A car that can run entirely on ethanol is new for India.

Suzuki already showed a flex-fuel version of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. That car could run on E85 fuel, which has 85% ethanol and 15% petrol. The new E100 Flex Fuel Car that will be shown in June can use E100 fuel, which makes it even better.

Running a car on ethanol is not easy. Ethanol is different from petrol because it gets wet easily and burns differently in the engine. So car makers have to change some parts, like the fuel tank and the ignition system, to make sure the car lasts longer.

Nitin Gadkari is pushing hard for ethanol and other clean fuels. He says that using ethanol can reduce pollution make fuel cheaper for people, and help India not rely so much on oil from other countries.

He also said that many car makers like Toyota, Tata Motors, Mahindra, Honda, and Suzuki have already shown flex-fuel cars in India. These cars, along with hybrid cars, are a big part of India’s plan for the future of cars.

India is also getting ready to use ethanol in fuel. After starting with E20 fuel the government has made rules, for E22, E25, E27 and E30 blends. This shows that India is moving faster towards fuels. Maruti Suzuki and ethanol fuel are going to be a part of this change. Ethanol fuel and Maruti Suzuki are working together to make this happen.
