Made-in-India Mini Countryman C: The Indian luxury automobile market is about to witness a historic moment. Turning a fresh page in its Indian journey, BMW Group is all set to officially launch the Made-in-India Mini Countryman C tomorrow. For the very first time, the iconic Countryman with a combustion engine is being locally assembled at BMW’s Chennai plant.
This shift from a Completely Built Unit (CBU) to local production is a massive strategic move, hinting at a much more aggressive and competitive price tag for luxury car enthusiasts in the country. If you have been eyeing a premium compact SUV that perfectly blends retro charm with modern performance, tomorrow’s launch is something you cannot afford to miss.

The biggest talking point of this launch is undoubtedly the localization, which is expected to heavily disrupt the luxury segment’s pricing. Under the hood, the new Mini Countryman C is powered by a refined 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system.
This smart setup produces a punchy 170 horsepower and 280 Nm of peak torque, mated to a smooth 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The addition of the mild-hybrid technology ensures that while you get that signature, thrilling “go-kart” acceleration, the fuel efficiency remains incredibly practical for everyday Indian driving conditions.
Step inside, and you will be greeted by a revolutionary cabin layout that completely redefines modern minimalism. Dropping the traditional cluttered dashboard, the Made-in-India Countryman C features a gorgeous, industry-first 9.4-inch round OLED touchscreen infotainment display running on the latest Mini Operating System 9.

The interior heavily utilizes eco-friendly, high-quality recycled textile materials along the dashboard and door panels, giving it a cozy yet futuristic lounge-like feel. Furthermore, the increased dimensions of this new-generation model mean passengers get significantly more legroom, headroom, and a massive boot space, making it a true family SUV.
Safety and driver assistance are also getting a major tech boost with this local iteration. The SUV will come equipped with Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), including features like lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot detection to navigate chaotic Indian traffic with ease.
Visually, the exterior boasts a sharper octagonal grille, sleek redesigned LED headlamps with customizable light signatures, and striking 18-inch alloy wheels that give the car a commanding and elegant stance on the road.

Now, all eyes are on tomorrow’s official price reveal. By assembling the car locally in Chennai, Mini is expected to bypass heavy import duties, allowing them to price the Mini Countryman C in a highly competitive bracket of ₹45,00,000 to ₹50,00,000 (ex-showroom).
This will position it as a fierce rival to the Audi Q3, BMW X1, and Mercedes-Benz GLA. If you want a luxury car that stands out completely from the crowd with unmatched personality and a richer feature list, keep your screens refreshed for tomorrow’s big announcement!
