Suzuki e-Access Review: Simple, Reliable, and Perfect for the Family; But Is It Worth ₹1.88 Lakh?

Suzuki e-Access Review: In India, the Suzuki Access 125 nameplate stands for pure trust, comfort, and everyday reliability. To carry this legacy forward into the electric era, Suzuki has launched its very first electric scooter—the Suzuki e-Access.

While other brands are busy making flashy, ultra-fast electric scooters for youngsters, Suzuki has taken a more mature approach. They have built a clean, straightforward, and practical scooter meant for the entire family. If you want an EV that just works without any daily drama, let’s dive into the complete review of the Suzuki e-Access in simple terms.

Suzuki e-Access Review: Design and Comfort

Suzuki chose not to experiment too much with the looks. At first glance, the e-Access looks very similar to its beloved petrol brother, which is actually a good thing for family buyers who prefer a sober design. However, it does get some modern touches, like a sleek LED headlight and vertical LED DRL bars on the front apron that give it a premium identity on the road.

The seat is long, well-padded, and incredibly comfortable. With a low seat height of just 765mm, it is very easy for shorter riders, women, and elderly family members to plant both feet firmly on the ground. However, one major letdown is the boot space. Because of the battery placement, you only get 17 liters of under-seat storage, which is even less than the petrol version and won’t fit a full-sized helmet.

Suzuki e-Access Review: Battery and Range

Instead of using the standard NMC batteries found in most electric scooters, Suzuki has packed the e-Access with a 3.07 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery. This is a karrack choice because LFP batteries are known to be extremely safe, highly heat-resistant (no fire risks), and they last up to 4 times longer than regular EV batteries.

The Range: The company claims a certified range of 95 km on a full charge. In the real world, with a pillion passenger and typical city traffic, you can easily expect a realistic range of 70 to 75 km.

Charging Time: Using the standard 600-watt portable charger at home, it takes about 6 hours and 20 minutes to juice up from 0 to 100%.

Performance and Ride Quality

The e-Access is powered by a 4.1 kW electric motor that produces 5.5 bhp and 15 Nm of torque, pushing the scooter to a top speed of 71 km/h. Now, if you are looking for that crazy, neck-snapping acceleration of an Ola or Ather, this scooter might disappoint you.

Instead, the power delivery is super smooth, gentle, and linear. The moment you twist the throttle, it glides forward quietly and smoothly without any sudden jerks, making it incredibly safe for beginners. You get three riding modes: Eco (caps speed at 55 km/h), Ride A (with stronger regenerative braking), and Ride B (with lighter braking feel). The handling is light, making it a breeze to zip through tight city traffic.

Suzuki e-Access Review: Should You Buy It?

On the technology front, you get a crisp 4.2-inch TFT digital screen. Using the Suzuki Ride Connect app, you can connect your smartphone via Bluetooth to get turn-by-turn navigation and call/SMS alerts right on the dash. It also comes with a front USB charging port and a handy ‘Reverse Mode’ to help you back out of tight parking spots easily.

Coming to the price, the Suzuki e-Access starts at ₹1.88 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). To be honest, the price feels a bit on the higher side when you compare its range to rivals like the TVS iQube or Bajaj Chetak. However, Suzuki is sweetening the deal by offering a karrack 7-year or 80,000 km warranty and a solid buy-back assurance, which brings immense peace of mind.

Conclusion

If you want a high-speed electric scooter loaded with gaming features and crazy modes, look elsewhere. But if your priority is Suzuki’s trusted build quality, a super-safe battery that lasts for years, and a simple, hassle-free daily commuter for your family, the Suzuki e-Access is an excellent choice!
