Honda City Facelift:

Current leaked images suggest that the Honda City is finally getting the bold makeover fans have been waiting for — bringing it in line with the aggressive styling now seen on modern sedans. And that’s exactly what Honda seems to be aiming for with the upcoming Honda City facelift, set to launch officially on May 22, 2026, alongside the Honda ZR-V.

Going by the latest spy shots circulating online, the iconic sedan could return with a sharper design, premium updates, and a much stronger road presence — making the wait feel absolutely worth it.

Earlier spy shots only revealed the front fascia, but the latest images now showcase both the front and rear design of the upcoming Honda City facelift — and it looks far more modern and competitive than before.

The biggest highlight up front is the sleek connected LED DRL strip, paired with new blacked-out alloy wheels that give the sedan a sharper and more premium road presence. The update feels subtle, yet enough to make the City look fresh and noticeably more upmarket.

New blacked-out alloy wheels add a sportier look to the upcoming Honda City facelift.

The rear gets some love too. A revised bumper with contrasting black trim and neat triangular corner elements ties in beautifully with the front end. The LED tail-lights and boot lip spoiler are carried over, but nobody’s complaining — they aged well.

Inside is where the Honda City facelift genuinely surprises you. A new free-standing infotainment display takes centre stage, and it looks like it belongs in a car that costs a lot more. Blue ambient lighting wraps the cabin in a calm, premium glow — the sort of thing that turns a routine commute into something you actually look forward to. The dashboard gets a mild redesign to pull it all together neatly.

On the powertrain front, Honda hasn’t changed a thing — and that’s the right call. The 1.5-litre petrol engine, putting out 121hp, carries on with a 6-speed manual or CVT. The strong-hybrid version, with a combined 126hp and an e-CVT, is still the one to pick if you spend more time crawling through traffic than cruising on highways.

Pricing on the Honda City facelift will nudge upward from the current ₹11.99 lakh to ₹16.07 lakh for petrol and ₹19.99 lakh for the hybrid. It’ll go up against the Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, and Hyundai Verna — a tough crowd. But if Honda gets the pricing right, the Honda City facelift has everything it needs to remind buyers exactly why this car never really left the conversation.
